Dark Rings on renders

Hi, I am trying to produce some renders for a project I have been working on.

Whenever I am producing I get this dark ring around my perspective. Does anyone know what is causing this to happen?

When I use a draft render the ring doesn’t appear so I am guessing it is something to do with reflections.

Hi @jackHEX and welcome to our Forum.

Right away, can you please kindly check if your system fully meets our dedicated requirements detailed here: https://learn.enscape3d.com/blog/knowledgebase/system-requirements/

Furthermore if so, is there any chance this part of the scene itself is located far off the initial default center (from which you’d usually start when creating a new project) and if so, does it make a difference if you move it closer to that initial default location?

If the above does not help nor explain this behavior please kindly forward this issue to our support team directly via a support report so that we’ll also receive your entire machine information as well as which CAD solution and version of Enscape you’re using exactly.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Also get this issue when rendering panoramas sometimes. It only affects some of the panoramas, I can move to a different room and the result is fine, there seems to be something about specific locations that triggers it. I also only get it from panoramas, if I take a still shot of the same area with the same settings the black ring disappears.

Tried upgrading the Revit file to a different version (from 23 to 25) but didn’t make a difference. It also isn’t visible when rendering in draft mode, so might be something to do with lighting? Adding a light source into the scene causes the ring to move, almost like it grew in size to the align with the edge of the light source area.

The scene is located close to the origin, and moving the entire project to a new location doesn’t remove the black ring, it just slightly changes where it appears. Machine should meet all requirements, drivers and enscape are up to date yada yada, will endeavour to lodge a support report this afternoon.

Actually also just noticed that rendering on high or ultra solves the issue too, seems limited to Medium quality mode only.
