Disabling Max 8 Error Reporting?

Hey folks! Just wondering if anyone out there knows a routine to disable the error report dialog in Max 8? VRay crashes my machine fairly frequently when I don’t pay attention to my RAM usage, and I’m a little tired of having to cancel this dialog every time it happens. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Shaun

It’s pretty annoying…

Just a guess but there is a file in the root of max called “SendDmp.exe” probably short for send dump file, you might try removing or renaming that one.

well renaming that sucker actually worked

I have a scene which … just… renders.. 1.72gb.. so a few meshsmooths later and i was able to test it. It crashed and no stupid popup

Damn, I’m good! :stuck_out_tongue:

Never had a doubt there, matey

Lele

heh, trying to imagine what a Italian drinking Oktoberfest beer sounds like when he says “matey”

Im sure it involves a burp and a hiccup. Any knowing Lele, probably some drool as well

Hm…while you guys mention it…anyone comming for oktoberfest ? We got our office like 100m away from it

Thorsten

100m from Oktoberfest?? Hey Thor, you guys hiring at all? Maybe I’m ready for a change of scenery after all…

Thanks bunches and bunches, dudes -- the office will love being able to kill the bloody error reports.

Ran into some issues with renaming the file here at work, some of our scripts made max reference that file for some unknown reason, maybeautodesk is keeping tabs on all of us max users

Anyways seems to be fixed by creating a text file and renaming it SendDnp.exe , Maybe somebody wants to write a relacement exe that sends autodesk a message to mind their own business! :stuck_out_tongue:
