I have noticed that occasionally a random SU group or component will not render in vray…it just disappears. It was driving me crazy until I closed sketchup and reopened the file…then it renders just fine. It’s not a real problem once you’ve figured out to close and reopen, but something to take a look at.

same thing happen to me.
so, 1. explode group or component
2. regroup again
then you can see the disappeared obj. again in your rendered scene.

So far I have been resolved that problem (at least for me) I found that it was a problem with layers: if there is just one object inside group from a hide layer, this group never render. I have a plugging PutOnLayer.rb ( http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/EM/PutOnLayer.rb ) I just changed the layer of gruop (and subentities with this plugin) and it works.

I forgot something. I have also had fewer problems with the displacement working in the same way: inside the group all objects must have the same material, if one of these objects has a different material (although it has it’s own displacement) displacement is absent. It’s also a good idea that this group should not be within another group.
