Display Time of Day in Video

Hi,

I am generating videos from Enscape and like usual my clients need to know the exact time of day at each point of the video.

Is there a way of showing this?

@Darkitect_1 there is currently no way to display it in your exported video.

But we have this topic on our agenda, and your upvote got noted.

Upvoted on your behalf! No update at the moment, no release date I’m afraid. Since this would be a nice little quality of life feature, I’ll definitely discuss this in our upcoming developer meeting once more. In the meantime, the display of a certain changing time itself would have to be added post-process.

Thanks for that. I’ll forward your voice as well of course - in the meantime, this would have to be done via video editing afterwards for example manually, but that should not be hard nor take long to do.

This would be a great feature.

We produce animations of the sun path throughout the day on almost every project because clients frequently want to know the exact time a window receives direct light etc.

You can overlay a time value manually in video editing, but it it would be good to show a progressing clock rather set times at certain positions.

We also have to frequently revert back to enscape to identify what the time value actually is which can be time consuming as we tend to produce lots of videos randomly, and then select them later for presentation.

Have you thought about recording a live screen capture while you change the time of day and Enscape? This will display the time while the sun moves through the sky. You may want to remove clouds in Visual Settings to make the shadows more pronounced. Faster than animating 30 frames / sec.

Good afternoon! I’ve been looking for a way to add this feature and curious if it has been implemented yet. Surely you have more of an update than “it’s on our list” as this request approaches 7 years old…
