Distance Texture won't work with tycache/tymesher geometry on the farm

Hi, what subject says - for some reason Distance Texture completely ignores TyMesher geometry on the farm. Works perfectly locally.
Farm machines have access to the caches.
If I export tymesher as an alembic and use that, everything works.
Any hint?

I wonder if adding an edit poly modifier on top of the TyMesher would help. Other than that, not sure. Sounds like a question for Tyson, though.

I did ask Tyson, but it actually seems to be a vray problem - locally it works perfectly

Vray maps do not work well with 3rd party plugins. I had similar issues. I solved my problem by using Vray proxy instead of tyMesher or tyCache.

@simone_nastasi We already have a similar issue logged and discussed here. It affects both tyCache and tyMesher. From what I’ve tested, it works in IPR and STD, but not CPU production rendering within 3ds Max. Do you use V-Ray GPU? And what are you using for network rendering?

Hi! Using cpu, deadline for the farm. So it’s a confirmed bug?

Try sending a V-Ray Standalone job to Deadline. It should work.

found what it seems to be a workaround - setting the tymesher to dynamic under vray properties makes it work in the distance texture. EDIT nope - a fluke, maybe. Weird

DistanceTexture Map works only when you load your scene with 3ds max GUI. You can load your scene in GUI 3ds max on any of the computers you use for render and when you render from GUI, it works fine. But when you submit your render task to the same computer without 3ds max GUI it will not work.
