Dome light + Sun

Hi guys,

I’m trying hard to get a “sun flare” into my object that comes from the “vray sun light” …
I know this suppose to be done in post production, but I wanna see it in MaYa and finally make this possible.

- Do I need a “vray sun light” or can I use only a Directional light?

- Can I change the shape of the “vray sun light” by linking / adding a .jpg flare image?

I will really appreciate your help on this one.
I don’t have any ideas more - how to make my object reflect the light and become a flare.

Hope yo can share with me a solution.

Do you have any reference images?
The easiest way to do this would be the lens effects in the VFB. Although it’s a post-effect, it’s added right in the VFB. Chaos Docs
