Dot cloud - how to display them in the render

Hi,

I imported a dot cloud file .rcp format (Recap pro) into my Revit file but it is not showing in the enscape render window.

Is there a solution ?

Or a trick by converting the dot cloud into a 3D mesh on another software and importing it to Revit ?

There’s no trick. Enscape renderings geometry, materials and lighting from the design file. This excludes point clouds.

With hardware generally becoming more and more powerful it may be possible to render point clouds without issues in Enscape as well, but just at least currently it’s not in development - Feel free to forward your inquiry directly to product management too though via our Roadmap Portal here so that we can track the further demand for this.

There are softwares out there to convert point clouds into meshes. I have rendered that in Enscape before.

Yes, probably with 3ds max or c4d. But we would lose the rgb colors of the dots. Unless there is a way to recover a texture and map et to the volume from these dots… which seems impossible to me.
