I have read all the posts on DR, but I’m still unable to even try it.
I created the ‘vrayspawner.ini’ which looks like this:

AppName=D:Autodesk VIZ 20053dsviz.exe
When I try to start ‘vrayspawner60.exe’, I get an endless loop showing VIZ starting and closing, which I have to terminate.
VIZ.log looks like this:

2004/12/20 12:36:58 ERR: An unexpected exception has occurred in the network renderer and it is terminating.
It used to have a bunch of junk about missing a ‘ray3rc’ file, and a bunch of MentalRay DLLs. I moved all MentalRay files elsewhere so it doesn’t even try to load them.
I also opened a dummy MAX file and saved it as ‘D:Autodesk VIZ 2005
etworkvraydummy60.max’ as suggested in another thread.
All of this to no avail. Looks like it’s still crashing on some MAX file error that is causing an unexpected exception error. Any pointers?
