Drag over numerical values to change parameters

I prefer adjusting parameter values by dragging directly on the input numbers instead of using a slider. Additionally, it would be great to have ‘Ctrl’ or ‘Shift’ modifiers to change the adjustment step/multiplier.

Hello, though we need to decide whether to accept your suggestion, for the sliders there are already Ctrl() and Shift modifier that enable finer control.

I am aware of the current Ctrl/Shift behavior for finer control on sliders. However, my suggestion is slightly different:

  1. Value Scrubbing on Numbers: Instead of grabbing the slider handle, I would love to click and drag directly on the numerical input box to change values (like in Maya or Houdini).
  2. Step Multipliers: While dragging on the numbers, holding “Shift” would speed up the change (e.g., increments of 10), and holding “Ctrl” would slow it down even further for precision.

This “value scrubbing with step modifiers” is extremely helpful when we need to change large values quickly without using the slider handle.
