DRserver as service

Hey there, i am trying to use the DRserver as a service but i keep failing. What i knwo so far:

  1. If i run the DRserver.exe as admin i can use it. The "search LAN "option does not see it, but if i add the IP of the machine manually it can be found and used.
  2. Running the DR as a service is fine but the main machine cannot find the slave. I see that both DRserver.exe and 3dsmax are running as services.

I have added - run as admin on both the DRserver.exe and nssm.exe. Both files are also excluded from the Windows Firewall.

Can someone help me with that ?

We will look into this ASAP.

Guess again, it’s the same old story [introduced in V3 dailies](https://forum.corona-renderer.com/ Daily builds version 3 #msg136599).

If you run DrServer as service on the master PC or start one 3dsmax manually, any subsequent 3dsmax session is unable to find slaves by “Search LAN” because the first max process (spawned by DrServer or started manually) blocks.

Solution/workaround is not to run DrServer on the master PC or to add the slaves manually. In case of adding them manually, you still get no additional status information in the VFB though.

Good Luck

Hi dontdiy, I recommend giving a try to Pulze Render Manager. It handles the Corona DR setup automatically for you. You just have to send out the job or series of jobs and it will take care of the rest.
