my brand new machine dual xeon 3.066 is up
really fast rendering 2-3 time faster than my ‘‘old’’ xp3000
BUT!!
when rendering
2-3 more noisy than my ‘‘old’’ athlon
anyone experience this??

what are the specs of both machines?
are they self built, or off the shelf (Dell, Boxx, etc)?
what sort of noise is your macine making?
perhaps you’ve got a faulty/loose fan in the new machine…
obviously a dual processor machine is going to require more cooling than a single processor.
my old P4 3.06 is louder than my dual Xeon - because it has crap fans.
We have a dell dual xeon 2.8 and it makes a sound like a formula 1 car, but that is because it has 5 fans to cool the cpu’s. It renders great though.
