Here is quick illustration I just wrapped up. It is a duplex at an area lake lodge. Nothing fancy, but I think it turned out good.
it looks very good but I think the shadows look too dark.
Thanks. I’ll work on the shadows if it comes back to me too.
I am finding something odd. I did a turntable animation last night and I didn’t use a LWF. The animation was using a VRAYSUN/SKY and a VRAYCamera. I got it to expose really well and the animation turned out good. The house I was turning around was using a single vray material with a VRAYDirt map. I set the color to 180,180,180 with a radius of 6’. I tried a non LWF on this duplex, but it wouldn’t work. I don’t know if textures and colors are what is making my images dark so I have to use a gamma of 2.2 or what. With a plane gray (180,180,180) it works great with a gamma of 1.
hey Bob,
i think the shadows are dark too.. but i’ve been watching your shingles for a while now (lol- shingle stalker!!!) and it looks might fine… do you care to share your secret fo making it look good…the hedges look good too…
Davis
I model the shingles using a plug-in.
Much better now Bob!!
First one looks like gamma 2.2 which I rarely use these days for exterior shots like this. I find gamma at 1.8 much better for really contrasting lighting as you see the mid-tones better.
I would also minimize any plants right in the foreground so that you don’t really notice they are there. Currently they are a bit distracting.
Hope this helps
Bobby, your shingles look like a low res bitmap
