DWF to max

Anyone have any fun tricks to get a DWF back in to max?

the guys from Okino - using polygraph or nugraph has a plugin that can read dwf into max.
I have not tried it, but I have Polygraph and used it before to transfer some angineering format - worked excellent.

print it out as PDF and from there you could export it as any vector format

DWF is a 3d format.
see here: http://www.autodesk.co.uk/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=452932&id=6475302

a vector format isn’t required - getting the 3d model back into max is what he is after.

Well it CAN be a 3d format. It’s possible it’s just a 2D plan in the DWF - Jack didn’t specify.

8 years later, has this problem been solved?

16 years :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, wow, even though they have a 2026 stamp on the page the layout looks even older than that https://www.okino.com/convert/dwf/dwf\_to\_3dsmax.htm#:~:text=PolyTrans|CAD+DCC%20performs%20mathematically,NURBS/solids%20MCAD%20file%20format.

Maybe it works

I saw that, but it was just a maze of words.

In the past, I would receive a dwf out of Navis works.
Large manufacturing Plant models

I would export it out of that as a dwg, or 3DS as a 3D file and import it into max.
The files where massive like 2gb. Nightmare.

It is issued as a DWF for legal reasons really.
There is also Autodesk NWC Export Utility for applications like Revit

I made a lot of plant visualizations from Aveva Navisworks DWF-files about 15 years ago. I used Polytrans as transfer format.

Ya know, you could try feeding the raw Navis work images in nano banana pro and see what it throws out…if ya have the funds and time of course.

i’ll bite… here’s what that can throw out
