Hello. I really do not know where to connect emissive maps. I tried to connect them as opacity but it does not work the way i wanted. Is there some kind of special node i am missing or something like that? Sorry im fairly new to all this.
Hi,
Emissive maps should be plugged into Corona material’s self illumination slot.
Hm, it does not work with self illuminaiton for me. It is map exported from substance painter. It look like its emissive and opacity map at the same time though.
Did you set self-illum multiplier to some other value then 0?
Opacity is single channel map, but emmisive usually is RGB, so i don’t think they are combined into single texture. What esport preset are you using in substance painter?
Yes its not 0, but then the whole texture disappears and only the light part remains. Because it is metal texture with bumps etc. and this light on top of it. I used Corona preset in SP.
Please show us a render of what you are getting, and the material setup itself.
Your material is constructed wrong, no wonder you are getting bad results. There are several discussions in the forum about Substance Painter to Corona workflow, i’ll try to search for them and give you some links to study further. Meanwhile i can show you how i usually do this. I never use Corona presest that is shipped with Painter, as i find it gives pretty strange result. I usually export with PBR metal-rough preset and construct material like in attached screenshot. It’s not 100% correct, but usually good enough for my needs. In your case, you should additionally plug emmisive texture into dielectric, or metal material, or both.
Thank you very much! I will look into this and correct all materials in the project. Also emissive map plug as self-illumination right?
That is correct, emmisive map should be plugged into self-illumination slot and its strength should be adjusted with multiplier.
Here is the ultimate guide for substance to Corona workflow. It’s a bit old, but still valid.
Thank you very much once again!
