Enable Pixel Streaming / Live Viewport Buffer Access for Custom Web Integrations (Self-Hosted)

Description:Context & Current Workflow: We have been collaborating with Chaos for over 1.5 years on a custom integrator solution. Currently, we utilize a web interface that uses the V-Ray SDK to manipulate .vrscene files, connected via Live-Link to a local Chaos Vantage instance. We trigger Vantage to render a high-quality still image, which is then uploaded to a server for the user to view. We have optimized this “render-to-image” workflow to roughly 0.5 seconds.

The Feature Request: To unlock the next level of interactivity, we are requesting functionality within the Vantage Integrator Build (or AppSDK) to expose the live viewport buffer directly. This would allow us to implement Real-Time Pixel Streaming (e.g., via WebRTC) directly from a local Vantage instance to a custom web client, bypassing the need to render and upload discrete frames.

Specific Requirements:

  1. Protocol/Access: API/SDK access to the viewport frame buffer to facilitate low-latency streaming (Video over IP / WebRTC).
  2. Infrastructure: Support for Self-Hosted / Private Cloud deployment. We cannot use the managed Chaos Cloud 3D Streaming solution as we require deep integration with our own custom backend and data logic.
  3. Performance & Interaction: The goal is to support interactive virtual retail environments and digital exhibition stands where public website visitors have full control over camera and scene interaction with negligible latency.

Why this is important: Moving from “fast offline rendering” (stills) to true “real-time streaming” allows for fluid navigation and a much more immersive user experience for high-fidelity commercial applications.
