Dear Forum Community,

We would like to acknowledge the challenges with the licensing setup (mostly seen in floating licenses), which you may have faced if you tried version 4.1 of Enscape. We listened to your feedback and we understand that, to our great regret, neither is this the licensing behavior that meets your needs, nor is it the licensing experience that we intend to provide. Enscape is all about the ease of use, and this remains our guiding principle and biggest priority.

Many of you have expressed great interest and shared excitement about Enscape 4.1, and we know that you are eager to use the new feature set as soon as possible, but some of you are prevented from doing so because of the licensing changes.

What are the options for you?

  1. We recommend that you stay with your current version of Enscape if you have multiple licenses shared by a group of users, to avoid unnecessary disruptions in your workflows. This is temporary until a fix is released (please refer to point 3);
  2. If you are eager to upgrade at this point, please start by reading this article to become familiar with the setup and limitation of pooling licenses. If the provided instructions in the article are acceptable for you, please feel free to proceed;
  3. In any case, we are working on re-enabling customers to use and re-assign floating licenses more easily, aiming to provide a simpler installation process. We will communicate with you in a timely manner once the fix is available, or as we have more details.

If you encounter any issues or are unsure if you can complete the setup successfully, please contact us and we will provide guidance and look at your specific case to find a solution that works for you.
