Hey all,
Recently upgraded to Enscape 4.12 and Revit is crashing every time I try to place assets using the Cosmos Browser - diving into the logs, it looks like I’m getting multiple PIDs trying to use the same socket address. When I investigated looked like Rhino and VRayneui.exe were trying to use the same port…is this a machine-specific issue, or something that Enscape should be fixing from their end??
For context I have Enscape 4.12, V-Ray for Rhino 7.2, Rhino SR 24, Revit 2025.4.3 installed.
Thanks,

Hello,
Could you please check how many cbservice.exe processes you see in the Task Manager?
Also, is it possible that this machine is being used by more than one user?
It looks like the Cosmos Browser might be started twice, which could be causing the issue.
Best regards,
Ivan
Hey Ivan,
Thanks for getting back to me. No other users on this machine. See screenshots below after a fresh restart (no design software running). Looks like I get 2 instances running (as well as updater service) with 3 PIDs…thoughts?? FYI this does NOT impact Revit 2026…
Hey @Ivan_Stefanov ,
Any additional thoughts on Chaos Browser?
Hey @Ivan_Stefanov ,
Any additional thoughts here? This whole Chaos merger is starting to get pretty frustrating…feels like we have no support.
Hello,
Do you have problems when you open the asset library in Enscape or http://localhost:30305 ? Does the Cosmos UI load properly? If there is no problem, then the issue with the already used ports is no longer a problem, because you wouldn’t be able to load the UI otherwise. Did you try Enscape 4.13?
My suggestion is to contact the Chaos support team. How do I contact Support?
Best regards,
Ivan
Hey Ivan,
The asset library loads just fine…so the ports must not be a problem - it’s just when trying to end the placement of assets in Revit and retrieve the render geometry from the cloud that it causes a crash. Apologies for reaching out through non-official means - I just find it’s usually more effective to get the ear of the developers, as they can point me to a solution much faster. Thanks for all the info, I’ll reach out to support and they can take it from here…I’m wondering if it has anything to do with Rhino.Inside and or Dynamo, as it’s really only a problem with Revit 2025 specifically. I’ll try 4.13 as well, didn’t realize it had dropped - thanks for the info!
Unfortunately it doesn’t sound like a problem with Cosmos. So if you have this problem even after updating to 4.13 of Enscape, my opinion is to contact the support team. Thanks for your patience.
