Enscape 4.18.0 Preview 2 Released

Dear Forum Community,

We have just released our latest version Enscape 4.18.0 Preview 2!

Improvements- Revit 2027 “Preliminary” Support: This Enscape preview version introduces preliminary support for Autodesk Revit 2027.

  • Improved Asset Brush Placement Speed: Placing assets is now significantly faster and more stable.
  • Consistent Light Clustering: Light management now uses the same clustering algorithm whether you are viewing all lights or only visible lights, providing a more consistent and predictable user experience.
  • Intuitive Asset Scaling: The scaling gizmo is now more intuitive. Scaling along the X and Z axes now correctly corresponds to the direction you move your mouse, regardless of the gizmo’s orientation.
  • Impact: “Peak Loads” has been renamed to “Peak Energy Demands” to align with IES terminology.
  • Help Panel: The mode-specific tab is now selected automatically when a GUI mode is activated or changed.
  • Grass: Smoother transition between detailed grass and LOD grass, reducing visible cut-offs especially in orthographic views.
  • Scene Export: The enabled/disabled property of lights is now included when exporting .vrscene files.

Fixed Bugs- Light Management: Resolved a bug where lights positioned behind other objects would briefly appear when opening the Light Management window.

  • Asset Library: Fixed an issue where Enscape could freeze if the Asset Library hotkey was pressed repeatedly.
  • Vectorworks: Fixed asset creation being affected by the active working plane of the project in Vectorworks 2026.
  • Revit: Fixed an issue where faulty materials caused the entire material feature to stop functioning.
  • Revit: Fixed an issue where renamed Cosmos assets were not placed in the same family as previous instances.
  • Archicad: Fixed Archicad 26 being incorrectly listed as a supported version in the Enscape preview.
  • Ray Tracing: Fixed ray-traced artificial lighting not working properly with clearcoat materials when using ReSTIR.
  • Chaos Cloud: Fixed Chaos Cloud upload to correctly handle scenes with textures that contain Unicode characters (e.g., Chinese).
  • Impact: Rooms with very low heights are no longer incorrectly included in the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) calculation.

Known Issues- Vectorworks: Self-referencing design layers are not rendering assets.

  • Archicad 29: The Enscape installer may fail to register the plugin for Archicad 29.
  • Light Management - Archicad: In Archicad, changing a light name will not update it in the Light Management window. On restart of Enscape, the new name will be shown.

If any questions or further feedback arises, kindly let us know via this thread or by reaching out to support. In case your experience any crashes, freezes or similar, please submit a feedback report with log files directly.

Consistent Light Clustering:

**“**Light management now uses the same clustering algorithm whether you are viewing all lights or only visible lights, providing a more consistent and predictable user experience”

Hi, does this improvement refer to fixing the issue where shadows become inconsistent when using spotlights as an artificial light array, so that the shadows are rendered uniformly?

When can we expect the full release?
