Enscape 4.19.0 Released

Dear Forum Community,

We’ve just released our latest version Enscape 4.19.0!

Improvements

  • :new_button: Chaos Assistant Product Guidance: Ask how-to and support questions in plain language and get instant, contextual answers from the Chaos Assistant — without ever leaving Enscape or Impact.

  • :new_button: Chaos Assistant Light Mood Match: Drop in an inspiration image and let the Chaos Assistant generate matching Enscape views and reusable visual presets in seconds.

  • :new_button: Chaos Assistant Asset Suggest: Not sure which asset fits? Let the Chaos Assistant recommend Cosmos assets straight from an image, a prompt, or your active viewport, so you can populate scenes and iterate on designs faster.

Known issues
  • Single asset placement may be imprecise.
  • In some cases, dragging an asset may place multiple instances instead of a single one.
  • Scrolling may behave unexpectedly while typing in the assistant panel.

  • :new_button: Chaos Cloud Integration: Exporting to Chaos Cloud just got a lot simpler. One unified flow now handles panoramas, still images, scenes, and web standalones, replacing the old Upload Management entirely.

  • :new_button: Skyboxes: Enscape now supports loading .exr skyboxes, as long as they use one of our already-supported layouts.

  • :new_button: Vectorworks: Enscape now adds preliminary support for Vectorworks 2027, so you can start exploring the latest release right away.

  • Error Messages: Improved error messages shown when custom assets are missing or fail to download, making it clearer what happened and what to do next.

  • Material Import: Added a specific, actionable error message when a material can’t be downloaded due to missing write permissions, instead of a generic error.

  • Hotkeys: Enscape now prevents assigning the same hotkey to two conflicting actions (e.g., the screenshot hotkey and a GUI mode hotkey), with a clear error shown when a conflict is detected.

  • Revit: Improved light radius estimation for narrow-profile spotlights that are set up as point lights in Revit families.

  • SketchUp: Lights in SketchUp can now be renamed directly via their component definition, and all linked instances will update automatically in Enscape’s Light Management.

  • Interface: Text fields in Enscape now support the standard right-click context menu (cut/copy/paste).

  • Performance: Improved export/transmission speed through more efficient data compression.

  • VR: Improved VR performance on certain hardware/headset configurations.

Fixed Bugs

  • View Management: Fixed section planes not getting applied correctly when switching views.

  • Diagnostics: Fixed BootError log files being created even when there were no errors.

  • Site Context: Fixed the Site Context map pin drifting away from the cursor when zooming with the scroll wheel while placing the pin.

  • Material Editor: Fixed AI-generated material import failing if the Chaos Cosmos Browser window was closed while the material was downloading.

  • BIM Panel: Fixed the BIM panel not keeping the previous search filter after closing and reopening it.

  • Multi Asset Placement: Scaling and Tilting sliders are now disabled in the rectangle, circle, and flood-fill placement modes, where they had no effect.

  • Revit: Fixed an issue where the current user did not have access to the Revit folder.

  • Revit: Fixed an issue in Revit where placing multiple custom assets with the same name could fail, leaving assets as placeholders and showing an error.

  • Revit: Revit families with multiple light sources now export those light sources with IDs, allowing them to be properly modified in the Light Management panel and exported to Envision via the Envision Live Link without errors.

  • SketchUp: Fixed the video texture thumbnail not showing in the Material Editor in SketchUp.

  • Archicad: Fixed Enscape startup causing a crash on certain Archicad projects.

  • Vectorworks: Fixed textures in Vectorworks being lost when modifying a material.

Known Issues

  • Renderer: Pressing an arrow key once makes Enscape move perpetually.

  • Shutdown: Enscape may display an exception message when shutting down.

  • Revit: Placing new assets in Revit 2027 may cause Revit to crash.

  • SketchUp: Geometry created with SketchUp’s procedural (Labs) tools cannot currently be exported.

Bug found: Enscape 4.19 crashes when clicking on the asset library.

could be a bug?

When trying to move forward or backward with the cursor, the movement freezes and cannot be stopped; the camera continues moving indefinitely in the same direction.

The only way to stop the process is by closing and reopening ENSCAPE

I’m having the same issue. When controlling the camera with the arrow keys, it starts moving continuously in the direction of the pressed key and won’t stop.

I had to roll back to version 4.18 — the problem doesn’t occur there.
