Enscape assets transparency. Whats the progress?

Hello there. I was searching for an option to set objects ( in particular trees ) to a transparent set up. I have browsed the forum finding older posts from 2017 and forward about this feature.

Is it still on the agenda / what is the progress or rather is it possible and can we expect it somewhen? It is a bit bothersome to have to render objects and the projects separately and then photoshop the trees in.

Thanks for clarification in advance!

A present the fastest and best option is to render twice (with and without assets) and merge in Photoshop. The option to add transparency across all Enscape assets could be incredibly useful for design visualization. But it’s not a present priority.

We are aware of the demand for this, but at the moment there is no rough release date I can mention yet I’m afraid - Your Feedback and post will be forwarded to product management though so that they and ultimately our developers are aware of the further demand for this. We appreciate the input!

Although it’s not exactly what you’re looking for, I’ve made a related proposal on the portal: adding an “Export Shadows-ID” option. This feature would allow users to isolate and export only the shadows (of trees for instance). By exporting the scene twice—once normally to capture shadows, and once without trees—you could then easily overlay shadows to the second in post-processing software (and maybe add some cutout). This approach would offer a good creative control. https://chaosenscape.ideas.aha.io/ideas/ENSCAPE-I-1517
