I only want to remember to a important request which is already formulated somewhere here in the forum.
Once you open a 2nd SetchUp instance, Enscape denies any service from that point on.
Even when you close this 2nd SetchUp instance again, Enscape will still deny any service further on.
To get Enscape to start again, you need to close all involved programs completely.
Only to close Enscape alone entirely is not sufficient here.
This is an incredibly time-consuming and cumbersome process.
Having multiple SetchUp instances opened side by side is a common workflow and it’s clear that not everyone will
access to Enscape at the same time - this is all for example about copy-pasting model contents, scene or camera properties
etc back and forth only within SketchUp. Since this process has nothing to do with Enscape itself,
Enscape should not prevent further work and certainly not generate even more effort.
As I said, just to be remembered and I would be happy if there would be a solution soon…
@EGIESTO , I don’t experience these issues, and we haven’t received such a report before as far as I’m aware, so our developers would be very glad if you could please send us some feedback so that we’ll receive the corresponding log files which should help us with troubleshooting the cause behind this behavior.
Thanks a lot in advance, please be so very kind as to also include your forum name (or some other reference) so that we can easily connect the report to this post, and you can also let me know once feedback has been submitted by you.
Again, thank you for your cooperation!
ok, I will reproduce this behavior tomorrow in the office - I had assumed this was the usual intended behavior and I am glad
that it causes your astonishment
(the feedback-file must be the first one together with enscape used file then?)
here is what I was speaking about above which was more an observation than a request back then
The content referred to the render shortcut that was no longer accessible when a 2nd SU instance was opened - This circumstance can only be ended for me by closing the entire software chain as well.
Can’t define Render Hotkey
@EGIESTO , that is indeed a known problem what you’ve mentioned regarding the render hotkey, but, we haven’t heard about “Enscape denies any service from that point on.” before when it comes to this subject, so I’m looking forward to your further reports!
“Enscape denies any service from that point on” - which is new to me to this extent also!
I always have and had to finish everything (SU + Enscape) in any case, at least when I want to use enscape again…
(SkUp itself is not affected and could continue working as expected. Closing SkUp also is the only way to get access to Enscape again)
