I’m having a problem with an exe file that will not open on any of my firm’s laptops/pc. We are able to open past exe files when they were exported out from older versions of Enscape but we can’t open this file that was exported in the new version of Enscape. This is the first file we have exported for VR in the newest version of enscape. All of our computers meet the minimum and recommended computer spec requirements necessary to run this program and we work in the file via through revit while enscape the program is open, but once you export it out as an exe file so we can use our VR pc for the clients to view our project in VR, it refuses to open. We can’t get past the the load up screen before it just closes itself out.
We have updated the graphics driver, windows is up-to-date, we have whitelisted everything enscape related in the firewall (even deleted our anti-virus software), made sure all computers are on the same enscape version, made sure any other drivers on the computer were up-to-date, and have tried exporting and opening the file on different computers.
I have attached the log file(s) from our VR pc and would really love some kind of help to resolve what could be causing this problem before we submit a ticket to enscape support.
Hi @5DBham , welcome to our Forum - In this case it would actually be ideal if you could quickly forward this behavior to the support team alongside by using the Help Center as detailed here. It’ll only take around a minute to do so and you can also simply include a link to this forum thread in the submission form for reference.
Feel free to let me know once submitted and I’ll have a look if we received your dedicated support inquiry accordingly. Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi @Demian_Gutberlet i have submitted a titcket and have gotten a response. it turns out there are illuminated decals in the project that are causing the EXE file to crash. so i either need to upgrade to Enscape 4.4 or downgrade to Enscape 4.1. The problem is we’ve had issues with 4.4 in the past and don’t know how to downgrade to 4.1. So how do you downgrade a version?
@5DBham , thanks a lot for your response and the further details!
If you wish to downgrade I reccomend fully uninstalling any existing version of Enscape from your machine, once that is done you can acquire a previous release of Enscape (e.g. 4.1) by going to our download page here and then by clicking on “View older versions ->” under Version History.
Also, if you experience any specific problems with Enscape 4.4 please feel free to let our support team know via the existing case of yours, of course we would then gladly look into this accordingly to troubleshoot as to why our latest release causes problems for you.
Thank you once more in advance for your cooperation!
