I’m unable to play any of our enscape executables as our IT dept/antivirus set up prohibits local users from running and .exe file. Could you please look into another way to format these. Or are you aware of any methods to white list them based on something in the exe?
+1 for my clients
Hey @sdbrownaia and @Micha , I’m afraid every export file is different, thus there is currently no way to set one specific whitelist rule for our exported .exe files I’m afraid. We are actually aware of this and a request for a solution is already on our agenda which just received a further upvote through your voices.
Also, we are in the process of developing a web solution that could mitigate the issue you are having with the standalone files. This feature is planned to be released with our next version. ![]()
Bad news - for clients with strong security restrictions a web solution is not a solution, since the content is confidential. Only way works could be that a software is installed (from the admin of the system) and this installed software take the standalone data (maybe the latest program code too) and start it.
Hey @Micha , would this be something you’d like to see filed as a feature request?
Anything you wanna add to it?
@Demian_Gutberlet Yes, a feature request would be nice. No further ideas. Thank you.
Couldn’t the executable and the data be separated into 2 files.
Essentially a small launcher app, lets call it EnscapeViewer.exe and a datafile we’ll call project.ens.
You could launch the project with a shortcut to EnscapeViewer.exe project.ens
This way the executable could be tested and approved by IT departments.
Great idea… Free Enscape viewer exe which could be tested and approved, and exportable datafiles which we can share with the clients …
(if online web viewer solution is not feasible)
Hey @Paul_Russam and @some1new , what you requested is already on our agenda, in case you’re mainly talking about our “normal” non-WebGL standalone files. Your voices are being heard and the topic received a further 2 upvotes. ![]()
@Micha , since our WebGL standalone files will be uploaded online, to be shared for example, they will also be password protected in some way. There shouldn’t be any need to worry about security in this case, but please let me know if you want to give us any further feedback regarding this subject.
the exe files take a huge amount of time to scan (bitdefender)
Still going after 30 minutes on a 120mb file.
something to remedy this would be great. Is the webgl version running in latest beta?
Only option i see is export exe.
thanks
@DC8Studio the webgl version is yet not available. It will be included in our release version 2.4 and pretty sure in one of our upcoming preview version.
But it will be announced.
I tried to export the model in a standalone web. Unfortunately, can’t open for viewing. A blank page opens and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
@Yaroslav_1 please give a link to the standalone. Via PM if you wish.
Not found how to send PM. Leave a link here - https://api2.enscape3d.com/v1/view/218f583c-54c4-423b-b9c7-b8d4b20b7ac6.
