Enscape Render Quality

Hi,

I am using the Enscape trial and it has been going pretty great so far. However, when I run Enscape (using both VR and non VR options), there is quite noticeable noise in the model. The noise appears to intensify as I make movement (e.g. move forward, rotate my head etc.). Is there any way to reduce this noise in the settings? Any comment would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There is a Noise setting in the Capture tab under ‘Settings’. Hopefully this will help.

Hello,

I could not find the Noise setting under Capture tab. Is Capture tab only for exporting screenshots? As I want to use real time for enscape. I have tried to play around with the settings but unfortunately the noise level does not seem to decrease.

By the sounds of it the Noise slider has been taken off on the latest release. @Jonathan_Knoefel can you confirm?

The noise slider on the Capture tab is only available in the Preview version of Enscape! And it will only affect the quality of captured output like screenshots and videos.

For the current release version of Enscape some noise especially on rough, but reflective surfaces as seen on the screenshot, will be noticeable during fast movement due to our realtime capable global illumination calculation. If the noise appears too distracting you can try and disable global illumination in the Settings window, however the quality/accuracy of reflections will decrease a lot.

I’ve tried that, and indeed the noise has greatly decreased. Thanks for the advice! Would like to know if there will there be an improvement in the quality with global illumination in future versions of Enscape?

We continuosly work on improving Enscapes lighting and GI. There is always a trade off between speed, quality and noise but we’re getting better every version.
