Enscape-Support of animation plugin Bongo (?)

Hi Enscape!

Coming from other (more cinematic) programs and render-engines (like Maya, 3dsmax..) I really enjoy the simplicity of making animations and camera paths with enscape. Also the time you have to use to setup the lightning is outstandingly short. But I miss the possibility to animate objects themselves (which is possible with plugins like Bongo for example).

So my question is that if Enscape does support Bongo (or Bongo 2) or any other animating plug-in, and if not, is it considered to do someday?

Thanks in advance,

Laurenz

Hey @Laurenz_Baumgartner , thanks a lot for your post and welcome to our forum!

Animations or the Bongo plugin is not yet officially supported by Enscape. Both animations and support for the Bongo plugin is on our agenda though already, since both have been requested before, so I’ll add an upvote to both topics.

Thanks for the fast reply!

Cool, really looking forward to future updates

On that same note,

is there any plan to implement animated assets? Could be cool to have some people actually walk around the site instead of just standing arount. Or trees moving in the wind etc.

No promises I can make, and there are also no definite plans when it comes to this yet, but once animations are being supported by Enscape, we can also look into the idea of animated assets.

Any news here?

I am working on an a project involving object animation, i would love to use enscape but it is not working with bongo…

Since you already have a way to syncronize Rhino - Encape views is it so hard to do to develop a mode where encape is rendering one picture for every time the rhino viewport is changing ? Did you contact the Bongo guys about this?

The ability to use Enscape for object animation would dramatically add to the versatility / value of the SW IMHO…

To be used in connection with Bongo, Enscape has to be able to be the “current Rhino Render” see attached pic…

Another option might be to have a Enscape viewport mode (…wich would be an awesome addition itself…) and then use the “viewport mode” option in Bongo if this is easier to implement…

Hello!

Big +1 from me, too, for Bongo support!

As a workaround, the camera animation can be transferred key by key to the Enscape timeline, but that’s not so cool…

Please think about it! Bongo, despite it’s somewhat funny name, is a good tool.

Edit: Intersting to know: Bongo even supports animated textures…

Thanks!

@Tupaia_1 , I upvoted this for you.

@andreas - I also upvoted this on your behalf.

The current situation is that there has been no development on this as yet. Its not been reviewed internally so far, and currently the demand for this is very low.

We fully understand the demand for animation to be possible in Enscape, and we are making steps to making that possible.

I can’t really tell you much more than that at the present time, I’m afraid.

Thanks, Pete!

Fair enough! Good to hear you don’t rule it out.

Of course animation also makes sense for a renderer focused on archvis. First and foremost camera paths, cars, vegetation, people (like in Lumion), elevators, sunscreens, funky buildup animations…

+1 please. Bongo support would be awesome

Added as well, of course, thanks, Jack!

Bongo support needed here too, please.

I use V-Ray for rendering train and airplane interiors and am very satisfied with the quality of still images. The material setup is not as limited as with Enscape. But from time to time my clients need animations, camera flights and moving mechanisms. But render times of 5 minutes per frame are not a good solution. With Enscape it was much faster. Could you please let Enscape and Bongo work together?
