Quick question. Do Vray lights block the environment light when placed in the windows ?

yep pretty much.
Even if its “invisible” it will block the environment light completely.
Turn it off or delete it then the environment light comes flooding in.

You could use 2 vray lights.. one a the front set to Skylight portal and the one behind it as normal.
