Error opening 3dm file

hi to all im posting here beacouse i dont know where else.

so this is the problem i have a very important file, and when i try to open it an error message appears saying that my file is not a rhino file. but i’ve been working on thet for weeks

does any one know what can i do?

im in Real Trouble Undecided

I can’t help you, but for the future I recommend to use the incremental save often. To avoid to much HDD wasting I use the button script

!-_incrementalsave savesmall=yes _enter

So, if you run in the problem, that your project file will not be opened, you can use an older version and you lost some hours of work only.

thanks for your relpy micha, i guess i have to start all again.

is any posiblility that the rhino guys recover some geometry?

I’m not a expert, but did you already try open in “Rhinoceros 4.0 in Safe Mode”?

nope doesnt work, it dont do anything it opens a blank rhino, the weird thing is that the file still weigh 10MB and it doesnt show any geometry ???

You should probably run the Rescue3dm command on that file. That will analyze it and tell you if it can read any of it and what sections are corrupt.

Since this is just a V-Ray forum, we’ll only be able to help you to a point. On the McNeel newsgroup there are many many more Rhino experts there that will be able to help you out with this. I would definitely post something there.
