I’m having trouble loading vray in maya. I’ve installed everything, have the license server running, etc. But I can’t get the plugin to actually load properly.
What I’m working with:
OSX Snow leopard
Maya 2012
Vray 2.0 for Maya edu
When I try to load vrayformaya.bundle, I get this error message:
Error: dlopen(/Applications/Autodesk/maya2012/Maya.app/Contents/vray/plug-ins/vrayformaya.bundle, 1): Library not loaded: @executable_path/libvray.dylib Referenced from: /Applications/Autodesk/maya2012/Maya.app/Contents/vray/plug-ins/vrayformaya.bundle Reason: image not found (vrayformaya)
Then vrlservice says that it can’t listen to port 30304.
I set up port forwarding for 30304, and confirmed that it works, but yet I’m getting the same error.
I’ve contacted ChaosGroup, but haven’t gotten a reply for about a week. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
For the vrlservice, there is probably another instance of the process that is already running. What is the exact error message?
The dlopen() error is an odd one; I will install the educational version tomorrow and see it works fine here. In any case, have you tried re-installing V-Ray for Maya?
I dug up my copy of maya 2011. It installed fine and loaded automatically. It must be something with 2012 and the hotfixes. I’ll reinstall everything from scratch. At least I know everything else is working, as far as the licensing, etc.
BTW, thanks for the help Vlado.
Update: I reinstalled Maya 2012, and Vray. But it still doesn’t work. It seems like it’s just that combo for me.
