Evermotion NOX Renderer

http://www.evermotion.org/nox/download

Sample images are looks nice even though beta version.

But there is no max2011,2012 plugins. :frowning:

That does not look bad for a free renderer.

Support documentation says it has a Max exporter, and on install it has an option for download and install Visual C++ redistributables specifically for “3ds Max 2010 and higher”.

The installer gave me the option for installing in 2011, and I can confirm that the NOX tools are exposed in 2011. No problem here…maybe just 2012?

It is odd that they have not developed a sketch-up exporter for the launch, but including a blender exporter is cool.

EDIT: My first impression is that this is a lot like Fryrender minus a few features…at least for the beta.

Aha, you’re right. 2011 plugin is there.

2012 is supported now:

i love their post pro lens effects and the interface is v nice. but the renderer itself is paaaaaaainfully slow. Even Maxwell feels 10 times faster. and am talking teapots only.

Thanks for the info.

Nice interface, simple and easy, but as mentionned, soooo slow… 3 spheres in metal with 2 lights and 40 minutes rendering, still lots of noise and no clean edges…
But sure a nice little toy to explore..

if you want to play with a good rendering toy I suggest Luxrender that it’s free with a good interface…I don’t know if it’s slow as Nox, but it has different render engine and a GPU porting… it’s not so bad… sure not production ready and 3dsmax integrated as Vray…but good
