I am a brand new user trying this out for the first time. I have Enscape with Rhino 6 on both my laptop and desktop machines. With this same Rhino model, the laptop looks normal (fantastic actually and very exciting!) but here you see my desktop looks all red and weird. My desktop is running Windows 10 with an AMD Radeon RX 480 gpu. I checked the specs for this graphics card and it appeared that it would be compatible (seemed to me to meet the minimum requirements stated in the KB) but now I’m worried there is some incompatibility here. Is this a graphics card incompatibility issue or is there something in the settings I need to look at? TIA.
You did not attach any image for use to review, but it might be the chromatic aberration setting, Try turning that off and then updating your graphics drivers. Hope that helps.
The chromatic aberration slider doesn’t change the fundamental redness or fix it. My graphics driver is up to date. Any other ideas?
Have you tried reinstalling Enscape? Which version are you using? Are you using a skybox? Any lights or self illuminating surface?
Update: I rolled back to Enscape 3.1.2 from 3.2 and it is working. No skybox (I don’t know what that is) and no self illuminating surfaces. Seems like I will need to upgrade my graphics card to handle 3.2.
Please also send us a Feedback report with your logs so that we can at least check the log files for any hints as to why this occurs. Something seems to be rather broken here even though your GPU should be supported even with 3.2. Thanks a lot in advance, you can also gladly let me know once you’ve submitted everything.
I fixed it. Here’s what I learned. I was watching your YouTube video on using Enscape with Rhino and in the video when they’re talking about updating your video card driver, he says that even though Windows thinks the driver is up to date, it might not be, and you should check the manufacturer’s website of your graphics card to make sure there isn’t a more current driver. That was my problem. Windows was telling me my driver was current but it was from 2019 and the mfr had a driver that was very recent. I manually downloaded and updated to that driver and now it works with Enscape 3.2.
You can consider this closed. Thanks for trying to help. Don’t forget to tell people this when you tell them to update their drivers - they should check the mfr website, don’t just go by what Windows tells you in the Control Panel or Device Manager.
@Earl_1 , this is actually something we try to always mention, hence why we also directly link our users to either the NVIDIA or AMD homepage directly - And thanks a lot for your reply, of course, I’m glad a simple driver update resolved the issue for you. We would’ve been able to also see that your drivers were still outdated through the Feedback report, so if you ever experience a similar issue or issues in general, feel free to make use of the Feedback Report button in the future. ![]()
