Exclude Vraylights from VrayDirt materials

I often run in to the problem where I have a VrayLight plane tucked up close to a ceiling or wall plane which has a material that uses a VrayDirt map, and after rendering there is a solid rectangle visible behind the light plane. I have tried using the ‘Exclude’ option of the VrayDirt map, but the lights are not listed, thus they are not able to be excluded.

The image below shows what I am trying to explain. The lights in this scene are 1" away from the ceiling/walls, and I am using a simple VrayMat with a 24" radius VrayDirt map in the diffuse slot.

It would be very helpful if there was an easy way to exclude the light planes from the VrayDirt calculations.

Thanks,

Andrew

If the lights are invisible, it should work if you turn on the “Work with transparency” option for VRayDirt.

Great, thanks Vlado!
