Export Composition Sequence Compression Too Poor Quality

Hi,

I was trying out the Export Composition Sequence, and I set the quality to 100, but I am still getting some pretty massive artifacting in my output video. It just every few frames like a keyframe type issue. Also, a couple of times I had out of ranges highlights toggle to pure black a couple of frames.(I think a lot of the MPEG4 compressors have trouble with out of range values. We always convert to in before making MP4s).

Is there some way to get better quality out of the MPEG export? It’s a useful tool.

Hey, can you let me know what version of Player you’re using?
There was an issue we fixed in the latest 2.10.01 release.

Oh, I thought I was on the latest. Perhaps not, as I forgot it’s a separate install from vray. Let me try the latest stable I can find.

Same problem with the latest version of player from Apr 4. 2.10.02 build 124

The mp4 output gets posterized and jumps every few frames like a keyframe thing.

Alright, seems there’s still something to fix.
What OS is this?
What’s the ‘quality’ setting you use for exporting?
Can you get me some sample files?

OS is Windows 10 64bit Pro
Quality setting is 100. I did not try anything lower. The source images are vrimg files with a lot of layer, but they are loaded int he default manner where they only show up as one layer.

Files are 1920x1920 square.

Can you try quality=99? Any value other than 100 will work, just as a test.
