exrdisplay getting it to work?

Hi all,

This is probably a total noob question but here it goes anyway.

I downloaded the OpenEXR 1.2.2 win32 package and unzipped it. I went to use the exrdisplay.exe and when I double click on it, I get a dos window open up for a second or so, and then it disappears and nothing. What am I doing wrong? I am using Windows XP Pro SP 1.

Are there any other exr viewers out there? I am going to try cinepaint and have tried P3dO Image viewer which didn’t work as it showed only the icon for .exr’s.

any ideas would be great.

it probably needs to be run from a dos prompt…

just double click an EXR image, when windows ask what to open it with just browse to the exrdisplay.exe , check always open with.
