Hello there !
I need to do an exterior archviz animation for a client and although I saw the "saving UHD tutorial " I am wondering if there is a trick for the "PT + PT " method in order to save some time .
A test I did this morning , for a 820 x 460 pixel frame took about 7 minutes on an intel 6850k …meaning that for 300 frames (10 sec animation, 30fps) I need 2100 minutes = 35 hours ! Am I missing something here ? First time I try an animation with corona though …
I deleted the proxies (40 trees and about 50 sqm of grass) and now every frame is super fast …
the trees are from evermotion (corona archmodels 1) so the materials are ok I suppose ,
any other ideas to make the render time a bit faster ?
It is also possible that your trees have wrong materials - they should definitely NOT use refraction for the leaves.
If there are no moving objects or lights in your scene, you may actually try saving the UHD Cache and re-using it for all frames if it speeds up your rendering compared to PT+PT. But generally for exteriors PT+PT should work fine.
