i did some comparison to other render engines and vray does take a long time to translate scenes…
would like to see a speedup there and a snappier IPR…
the new redhshift framebuffer does bring a reasonable speedup…
also renderman will do some progress in that direction with the next version…
hope chaos is doing the same…
It will be very helpful if you can get us scenes where the translation time is slow. You can send them to me at vlado@chaosgroup.com and we’ll see what can be done.
I don’t think the framebuffer has anything to do with this.

Following this thread as I am hoping for the same thing. 
We did confirm that it’s slowish and we are looking into ways to make both the initial export and the subsequent updates faster.
