As far as I can see in my tests, volume effect makes renderings take twice the time, making it unusable in my workflow.
With Unreal engine and other render engines having real time atmospheric effects, I wonder if it would be possible to have a much cheaper option to adding depth.
A feature request for faster volume effect (with possible already known bug improvements) is made based on this.
We will keep you posted in case of updates.
Any plans for this?? It should be much easier to have an athmospheric effect in a rendering engine in 2026 I’d say. Corona doesn’t have a good solution yet.
The main point was addressing the standings bugs with visibility overrides, clouds and volume effect.
The control is also improved.
This means you can use the volume effect with a e.g. direct visibility override as expected. So the case you have in mind, if I understand correctly, should also be achieved.
As for specifically faster volume environment effect or material, that is a different topic.
