Features Removed in VfS 1.48.66

  • There are few features that were included in previous VfS (1.05.30) and weren’t included in the new version.
    For instance:

    • Low Thread Priority
    • Showing how many pre passes has left before rendering - f.e “pre pass 2/3” in the progress window

I would like to ask the developers to include those features in the next VfS update/release.
    Edit:

    • Key Shortcuts enabled during render
    • Compact UI/layout menus
    • Ability to see materials arranged alphabetically- Material editor window
    • Specification of the version number (e.g. 1.48.66 - Options>about)

Added few more removed features. Main post updated.

Re: Features Removed in VfS 1.48.66

Also I noticed that in the new VfS there is no specification of the version number (e.g. 1.48.66)
and in previous versions it was listed under Options>about

Re: Features Removed in VfS 1.48.66

You find it in Model->Preferences->Extensions

Re: Features Removed in VfS 1.48.66

“-Key Shortcuts enabled during render”
that explains why i cannot use su shortcuts.

I also have a difficulty arranging the layers of a material(diffuse, reflective, etc)

does the UI is a bit slow? or is that normal?

Thanks, found it. I’ll edit the post

Sometimes it’s lagging but it happens rarely.

Re: Features Removed in VfS 1.48.66

latest update has resolved some of these issues:

Low Thread Priority
Key Shortcuts enabled during render

Re: Features Removed in VfS 1.48.66

Just to ask the question, is there an advantage to not showing the number of prepasses remaining? I know it’s a detail, but I would generally like to see more information instead of less information (unless it cause problems or slows the system down--of course).

Re: Features Removed in VfS 1.48.66

progress window was causing a slowdown, we have had higher priority on other bug fixes, we plan on bringing it back once we figure out a way to do it without slowing everything down.
