hey guys
I`m using “preserve variables” list to manage paths between W10 workstation and Linux render nodes. I updated to todays nightly, exported vrscenes and found out that image output path(render output)is being expanded, so my renders are not saved to correct location.
Also paths in vray lights are being expanded, so i`m loosing textures in lights, which is a bit of a pickle.
Any chance to get a quick fix into the nightlies soon?
Sounds weird, will fix this asap, sorry for that…
@bdancer I just found out that if i export sequence of 5 frames to vrscene,each frame it`s own file, only the first frame vrscene will have this issue with output path, rest of the frames will be good!. I`m talking about “img_dir” in the vrscene. Lights are wrong on all frames… Hopefully that helps you narrow down the problem.
Thanks, this will help fixing this!
@bdancer Any chance “img_dir” in vrscene export is fixed?
Sorry for the delay, I’ve uploaded new nightlies, pls, check if it works for you.
@bdancer Just tried with todays build, Build number:7166 hash:a4081ff from 12 May 2020 17:16 , on 18.0.416 , unfortunately it still does not work. First frame of the sequence is expanded, rest of frames seems to be fine.
first frame i get - img_dir=“W:/20001_Snow/060_Render/Shots/Sh037/v001”;
rest of frames i get - img_dir=“${JOB}/060_Render/Shots/Sh037/v001”;
This behavior always happens in relation to the frame range being exported. It`s always 1st frame in range. If i have a shot with 100 frames, and i export 1-100 to vrscene, frame 1 is wrong.
If i export shot with 100 frames on farm, where each machine export 5 frames,1-5,6-10,11-15 etc, every 5th frame will be wrong(frame number 1,6,11 etc.. will be expanded).
It is quite annoying, for now i`m exporting each sequence with one more frame at the start, then deleting it. Can`t use multiple machines to export, because every nth is broken. So export jobs take hours instead of minutes..
psanitra, missed one case, rebuilding…
@bdancer that new build i was talking about, Build number:7166 hash:a4081ff , i think you broke it , lol. You forgot forwards slash on the end of img_dir string
i`m getting
img_dir=“${JOB}/060_Render/Shots/Sh034/v001”;
i should get
img_dir=“${JOB}/060_Render/Shots/Sh034/v001/”;
> i think you broke it , lol
Yeh… never do changes late… rebuilding…
