So, with these fileshare mogels being shut down, do you think it will help stop these $100 rendering farms? will it stop the pirated software? or at least make it harder to get your hands on cracked software?
Harder, maybe. Stop it - no. After all, software was pirated even before these file sharing services existed.

yeah and bear in mind these are being shut down primarily cos of the Music and Film industry lobby.
The warez community is just soooo huge it will be next to impossible to get rid of it.
Megaupload got shut for a number of different reasons, the biggest one being that they encouraged what was going on, made more money than some of the biggest CEO’s in the world and did a fair bit of money laundering.

SOPA and all that will make it harder, but it’ll also cause so many other problems warez will be the least of our worries.
Apparently…Megaupload used up 4% of the whole internet!
The original copy protection for games was the printed manual! (Page 54, 3rd word) (which was usually “dragon” for the games I played).
I guess, thinking back, software was distributed differently years ago. We had a guy visit the Philippians once a year and he always came back with a bunch of pirated CD’s.
I doubt if its really about piracy tbh. In my opinion goverments want simply to be able to shut down any website they want legally if it endangers their ‘‘busines’’ Take for example strikes and all anty gov stuff etc etc. Now they can shut them down and say… ''u had 1 link to bad website, u pirate now ! ‘’ Piracy was around for years, and u telling me they just now realised that…? Dont they have better things to do like debts, financial crysis and so on ? 
Thats my 1 coins of thoughts.
I take the perspective that if you’re ever reliant on the cost of the software/hardware you use limiting your potential competitors, then you’ve got bigger things to worry about!
