FIREPLACE set of images

Hi everyone,
because andybot_cg said: “LOL, you’re the only activity in this subforum for a while. It has been pretty quiet in V-Ray for Blender world.” under “2017 11 24 blender crashes after hit render button, during exporting scene to vray” POST - I decided to do something with this and publish these images to show, that thanks to people, that work on blender for vray code every day, I can work on this software everyday!
This quiet is my fault to, because I didn’t write anything last year probably.

This is set of images done for company, that produce fireplaces.

Thanks for posting these! Looks great, I especially like how you managed the lighting on that last indoor/outdoor view.

I agree, I am also using V-Ray for Blender in production regularly, and am very glad for what the developers have achieved. Many thanks!

Nice images. The third and fourth are my favorites.

Really nice works, that inspires me to learn vray more further. could you show materials setup, because it has a lot of realism, and maybe can you say about lighting setup?

It’s always important to show images done with Vray4Blender but I think it’s great when someone post images with this level because it’s important , for the growing of the user base, to show that we have the tools to do the daily hard job with the right quality the CG indutries requires.

What about your setup and feeling with Vray4Blender about the manage of the materials, the manage of the UVs and the textures/material viewport preview??
In my short experience with Blender , those are the main issues I’ve found.

I started with Blender4Vray since Blender 2.48b version, when Vray was integrated by script. There wasn’t even node support. I used this combination in my job to put my renders on higher level. And Blander with Vray addition did the job well. I believed, that this was right way of my work flow. A lot of time has passed and I’m still happy, that Chaos group work very hard to make my job easier.
What can I say about materials and UV. UV work fine for me and I doesn’t have any problem with this, bus I’m still using Blender 2.77. In this version I have soft box texture for area light, that works in right way. I wrote to support, but it seems, that nothing happened in this topic. Material Preview? I got used to it and that’s all. I’m waiting some 10-15 s and got it. Something faster is make some test render, but this doesn’t matter, I’ll still use this soft.

Hello, sorry for my greediness of your knowledge, maybe I am asking too much of materials explanation, so as much as you can, would be appreciated. first i made table of first render.

Thanks for sharing these great pictures with extra info. One question. Floor material setup you have been using remap float. I have tried to duplicate these material of yours but I don’t see any effect if I change parameters of Remap float.
Does this node actually work?

thank you, its good to know any technique no matter is it PBR or not, can i ask you why you use remap float instead of gradient ramp? can i post more you other images interested materials?

very good images!!!

One more thing about fire. It is added in photoshop (flame on black background) with screen mode and some curve correction.

Great work, very pleasant color pallete.
Congrats!

Are you using brute force or irradiance map for GI?

@kontrolermpl Thanks for sharing your node setups! It’s good to see how others approach their node setups. Do you use GPU rendering in your workflow at all?

LOL! Please don’t take it the wrong way, I only mean that I like seeing creative ways of how others put things together. It gives me fresh ideas of how I could try things for myself. If it works well in the render, to me that is what matters most.

Please don’t get me wrong, i meant: please be so kind (to all users) and give me some advice if something is wrong or can be better

Of course! If I have suggestions I’ll be sure to share. The fun thing (and also sometimes frustrating) is that there can be many ways to get similar results.

I do have one question about how you are using the fall-off nodes. I see you have a brighter and a darker version of the same image plugged into the two color multiplier nodes. What effect does that produce? I’m curious if it has a different effect than just using a blend node to combine the falloff with the reflection map.

Thank you for your answers, what hardware you are using, and how long did it takes to make this type of project? Sorry for drowing on your works but that is fastest way to show what materials i am interested in.

Indeed very nice Renderings, congratulation! I do love the materials and choice of light, gives everything a cozy mood. And I?m very happy to see they were made with Blender. If I may suggest something regarding the overall composition, I think that you can enhance the reality when using some more small details, like picture frames, candles, small curtains, etc. At best those would be placed in an unperfect angle. But this is only a side idea, your work is already stunning.

p p p p perfect!
