First gallery post! Im looking for some critique. I want to improve so have at it. These were done over three evenings and were really just me playing about with modelling and some 3dsky models, looking at pinterest and messing with materials.
I added a few ikea style labels to them as they were all pretty scandi and minimal. Some are noisy as they were test renders. Really want to improve my realism though so im open to suggestions and new techniques.
I like your compositions and the contrast of colours are quite strong and impactful.
However if you want some criticisms, there are some construction details that you are missing/incorrect that would enhance your images.
1.) Nothing to Note. (maybe try and find better bedclothes)
2) I like this image the most (I would try and find a higher quality plant, since it’s the centrepiece of the image)
3) the slab thickness for your kitchen counter is way to thin. It should probably be almost double what you show in this image (a counter this thin would warp and bend way too much. Also add a chamfer to your edges.
4) Composition wise this is the weakest of the series (everything is on the periphery of the image). Construction wise your end grain countertop looks incorrect, it looks way too glossy. also the part of the counter that faces towards the camera also has end grains, which doesn’t make any sense. I would also find replacements for the cinnamon rolls, they kinda look like plastic in this image.
5) looks good.
6)I think you could spend some time researching window construction here. There are no window jambs or moulding anywhere along the sides that would be used to fit the window
7) Again, here window construction looks a little weird. Since the windows are so large, there would probably be mullions on both sides of the open windows. I’ve attached an image to show what I mean. I would also lose that black and white thing( a pouf?) beside the bed. It disrupts the symmetry of your composition. Rain droplets look good, I would just turn off the texture mirroring and just try and make a larger texture so the tiling isn’t apparent.
I had some issues with the material and im definitely going to have another stab at it. Potentially with layered materials. The chalky residue on eucalyptus is difficult to replicate but it definitely needs work thanks.

I just realised i used an MDF standard instead of thinking about real countertops. Still in day job mode haha.

Im going to continue working on this as i agree the composition is lacking. Initially there was an ikea style price label in the centre as the focus but without it it is a little sparse.
Lets see what bertrand benoit has to offer for baked goods haha. The end grain i didnt actually notice on the side there and i agree its too glossy.

The windows themselves are construction spec but the fittings around the brickwork i now realise i have forgotten.

This is actually the same scene as above but i changed the windows out for a more realistic model so hopefully when i get round to it i can rectify the fittings and sort out the tiling although i might split it into two scenes as i liked the industrial style of the original windows. I bought a pack of rain displacement textures on gumroad but they werent that great when i got them and tiling was super apparent so ill make some bigger ones in photoshop.
