Hi,
Recently completed this montage - taken on a standard grey English day. The result was acheived with only GI Environment (skylight) Override for the lighting.
I’d like to know what approach others may have to lighting for very overcast conditions.
FYI the boundary wall is existing and was not permitted to be removed.

Your photomontage is really good, but the mood of an overcast day is never happy 
Maybe you can try to put fake rain reflection on the floor to make the environement more alive, or just wait to take your picture after a good rain 
Fits in quite well.
Maybe the house is a little more gloomy compared to the surrounds but still.. looks good.
Definitily a good match - is it a marketing image ?
Yes…it’s intended for the sales brochure. Would have been nice to have been able to take a photo on a sunny day, but the site is a two hour drive and being England, anything can change in that time. Also the deadline for printing does not allow for waiting for a sunny day in winter.
Unless the sky is really dark, there is going to be some directionality to the diffuse lighting towards where the sun would be.
In this case the side of the building adjacent to the yellow house could maybe be brightened up, perhaps with a large, dim rectangular vray light.
Other than that, looks good. Looks like any typical day here between October and April.

A funny thing: I like using quality HDRI’s from people like Dosch or Sachform, but their sun is often too low in the sky. I know a photographer here with a Spherocam I thought I might hire him for a day to do a bunch of stock HDRI panoramas around London. But then I realized that every one would be cloudy, or if sunny it would have a low sun. I decided I’ll have to wait for summer…
You realise of course that come the summer you’ll be inundated with request for you shiny new HDRI’s of London from the UK based Vray community…
You could always take the picture anyway, and then help the sun by painting over it using a HDR painting app like idruna photogenics…
