I have a cleint that wants a couple of floor plans rendered. They brought me a 3D Home Architect plan…which frankly…did not look THAT BAD…But…My question is…for a standard single family plan…What would be the easiest or best way to light the plan? Vray lights in each room? Sunlight? etc… of course I meant plan view…not camera angle…but I may give them a couple of those as well

just light it like you would normally man. Sure you could just try skylight, but youd be missing nice localized lighting, which would just make it look nicer.
I would of course have a much weaker skylight then if It weren’t plan view renderings. You could have a roof there, just have it hidden to renderer but still be there for shadow casting for a sun, so you get light streaming through windows, but not through your roofless wonder.

I’ve been asked to quote for a similar job, so it’d be interesting to know. 
An omni type above each room + Skylight , prolly would do just fine.
