Im not sure who lied. It seems a little vague, but from what Ive read and heard, the final commercial was all practical. previs, who knows?
they do say that alot of pre-viz was done in 3d. but they also say that alot of it was “enhanced” in CG. plus crowd and practical rig removals as well
