fluid

Hi,

I had some fun with coding again.

animation

Direct rendering of implicit fluids with SPH based particle fluid and Zhu/Bridson surfacing. Details in my blog.

Hope you like it.

Best regards,

Dieter

OMG! I WANT IT!!!

BTW - is there a support for a small particles to create something like a foam or an array of drops ?

That is awesome!

Well done! :smile:

very cool stuff!

Sweet.

So when will you be modeling a nice beer?

it falls a little slow, at the end when the pouring stops, it also does not thin out. but its very sexy :slight_smile:

looks really interesting, don’t stop coding :smile:

nice work dieter, whats next for the blob/liquid plugins?
Oh just saw your blog, nice work on the pflow integration. It will be interesting to see how far you could push the particle count

Brilliant

Yes is very nice

Excellent…

That’s excellent stuff - it’s going to be extremely useful when used with the krakatoa sequence loader.

@ Dimo !

Hi Dieter… tell us , how much time does it took for calculations ?

Best regards,
nikki Candelero

Hi,

thanks for the comments.

@Paul
Since it’s a PFlow Node, you could probably do whatever you can do with PFlow to the particles (Including spawn etc)

@jacksc02
Particle Count is indeed an issue. The example above had only 22000 particles and simulation time was negible. I don’t know where the limit is. I just got my PhysX Board and will try out if the hardware helps.

@Nikki
This example took about 1 min and some seconds to simulate the whole sequence (But I think most of it was max UI overhead).

Best regards,
Dieter

this the best news I ever heard and it comes from you dimo !!!

REALLY Great news DIMO I don’t want to use real flow anymore !!!

congrat for your hard work like the vray iso plugins!

how does it look with a ball splashing on a cube water?

Could you simulate the hard angle like flood or the “ron fedkiw video’s”

Sorry for my english

mik, i think dimos solution is limited to what you can set up in PFLOW. Correct me if im wrong Dieter.

Hi,
I wrote new PFlow node that connects to the Ageia fluids. The Ageia fluids are pretty cool. You can check the videos at the ageia home page.

or here:

I think that the PFlow Toolbox 2 will support that, too.

I bought a card yesterday. I have realtime fluids in 3dsmax now :). Only bad thing is that there’s a particle count limit of 32k particles. I hoped that this limit was only for software mode, but it’s also limited in hardware mode.
Perhaps I can find a workaround for this.

Best regards,
Dieter

Dimo, do you know if a pflow is multicore optimized ? Don’t want to buy anything like ageia…

Hi,

PFlow is not multithreaded yet. But I heard rumours that this is in the works.

Dieter

along with max being fully multi-threaded!
Yeah right…
