Foam

hi all,

have to do foam on a jummy beer.
but how to???
it has to be relatively close-up save. but dond’t animated.
any suggestions?

best regards
Jonas

got pix?

sure, smtl:

thought about particles. but…

sounds like a vrayiso job…though that MIGHT be overkill…but surely some fun

Thorsten

hehe, ja you’r right.

when it would be possibel to make a snapshot of an iso surface!!! will it be?

Rough mesh, some serious displacement.

I wouldnt know where to start with the material without spending some time playing around, but thats how i’d do it. Think of it as a solid shader with no bubbles first, break it down to the basics.

Ah, it really was beer, I thought maybe you meant yummi bear

I might try particle flow to make a bunch of bubbles, might just be too much though.

i have a good diffuse and displacement map somewhere…

Just the foam map.. not mine from a russian forum.

damn nice daforce!!
what the hell you’re doin in all that russian forums?
might be the solution for all kind of problems.

thanks man!!

Hopefully it will do the trick.

Anytime

ok did a first test.

what are you thinking?

edit, modified the mat with sss a bit. 8)

looks nice, but i see no reason why the foam above the rim of the glass would be so much darker then ‘inside’ the rim.

hmm strange, you’re right. didn’t noticed that.
have to change lighting a bit i think.

.Looks great!!
Except for the odd brightness difference.

I would love to see a render with some foam dribbled down the side of the glass

I second that…maybe all the way onto the floor…

hehe, work on it.
