Donât think its possible since fog color isnt a surface color, its the color of the volume, and how do you map a volume?

On the subject of âtoo shortâ how are you guys searching for things in this forum such as âIORâ or âfogâ?

if we tag threads with the three letter definition they work in the tag search tool, so if you find threads for ior tag them and they will be easy to find in the future
In a Raytrace material (the old one for Scanline) itâs possible to map the fog. You wonât get full volumetric shading, with self-shadowing and what not, but you will be able to see a 3D map inside a geometry.
I know itâs a volume. In Lightwave theres a âsurface thicknessâ gradient, and iâd love it if at some stage Bercon were to put that in his Gradient (raylength refraction (thickness beyond surface), raylength reflection (control how far away a mirror reflects objects, for example)). For now though, iâd be happy to apply a fresnel gradient so i can make my ocean bluer towards the horizon and give it more of a green tint closer to the camera.
basically it would be nice to specify the fogs âfalloffâ curve.
at the moment , the fog parameter is not very precise and requires lots of quessing to get you where you want
