Framebuffer wishes: sound signal and grid

Hello,

it could be nice, if at the framebuffer could be enabled an option like “play sound after rendering is finished”.
Also useful could be to enable a grid over the image.

Regards,
Micha

pre-render script for the sound

what is the grid for ?

Yes, I could play a sound per script at Rhino, but than I must switch to the script mode and Rhino is blocked for scene manipulation. An option at the framebuffer would be the easy way.

The grid could be use to control horicontal and vertical edges at the rendering - some digital cameras support this feature.
My workaround is to use the framebuffer edge and to move it, so that the image is cutted by the frame buffer frame.

you are talking about Rhino ! - I mean 3dsMax

(hattest du mich heute angerufen ?)

Most applications that V-Ray is connected to already have some system to alert the user when rendering completes (either with a sound or an email); not sure the V-Ray frame buffer is the right place for such an option.

Best regards,
Vlado

OK, I suppose so, it will be more in the future and why should every plugin developer write the same tool. … and Rhino dosn’t support it or the script mode block Rhino for scene manipulation.

in 3dsmax:
customize - preferences - rendering tab - ‘render termination alert’ section - play sound

Today I’m rendering many images, each around 10..15min. I much miss a render-complete-sound-signal. No chance to get it per Frame buffer?

PS: Rhino and SketchUp user would profit.
