Getting a Mixed Reality Portal vr headset to work when upgrading from enscape 3 > 4

Hello, I just upgraded to the new enscape version, and I have encountered a problem that I cant use my HP reverb G2 anymore, yet it worked well a few months ago in a previous version through steam vr.

Enscape just gets stuck at “Searching for head-mounted-display”

would there be any way how to troubleshoot this issue?

I am aware that MRP headsets are not officially supported, yet it feels weird that it worked very well in previous release, and now it doesn’t.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Seems like ether adjusting Meta plugin compatibility or pressing " setting steamVR as openxr runtime" fixed the issue, not sure which one was it.

This menu is found in steamVR settings.

Hope this can help someone else.

Thank you so much @kaspars.pridurs . I had the same problem after updating from Enscape 4.0.2 (17 May 2024). I thought that support for Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) headsets had been withdrawn and that my HP Reverb G2 was now useless with Enscape. I had the same problem: “Searching for head-mounted display…” (image attached), nothing happened. The solution you posted fixed the problem: now, pressing on the VR headset button in Enscape 4.2.1 triggers Steam VR to enter Enscape3d again!

Thank you!

Hi, thanks for the clarification @jflemay and the good news! What operating system do you use? It also works with the latest windows 11 update where windows mixed reality was completely removed? Thank you!
