how do i increase the global illumination without increasing the light intensity?
the bounce light doesnt seem bright enough compared to the direct light, and i cant figur out the best way to adjust it.

You can either change the GI multiplier in the indirect illumination rollout or use colour mapping. Try also reading the linear colour thread in the tutorial section, it’s a long read potentially but it’ll solve the issues you’re having.

rightmouse click on an object and choose vray properties.
From there you can up the primary or secondary multipliers for GI above 1.
Or use a vraymtlwrapper and do the same on a per-material basis.
Or simply raise the diffuse color’s value for an object’s material.
